It's been a very long time since i have updated this blog, and i am still not sure if i will keep the blog running or not. This year we celebrated christmas at home for the first time. Zulema and Ståle came and we had an amazing holiday together. The next day we went to my mother and father and had xmas lunch. Later that day my grand mother also came and 3 generations could spend some time together. All in all a xmas to remember.

Today Melissa and her class had their christmas party, and they hade made a great show to entertain parents, brothers and sisters and grand parents. Everyone enjoyed the performance and the children were proud ans they received the thunderous applause ;o)

Next week Yoselin, Melissa's youngest aunt is going home to Peru after a 3 month visit with us here in Norway. She has been here to learn a little bit more about our small corner of the world and of course to help Zulema during the pregnancy and the birth of Storm. Last night we all went out to eat at a restaurant in Son and today we're going bowling in Ski. Creating some last moment memories before Yoselin waves good-by to us and goes back to her mom in Lima.

Friday 28'th Zulema and Ståle could celebrate the arrival of little Storm. Melissa has been anxiously awaiting the arrival of her little brother, and as you can see from the photos - it was love at first sight. And i am sure that somerwhere Mishelle is also taking part in excitement. While Zulema and Ståle was at the hospital, Pelusa spent a couple of days her with us - but i think she knew something had happened, because she kept trying to look for her father. Melissa has spent the entire week home from school, as she has been suffering from Mycoplasma ( giving her a really bad cough, nausea and headaches ), but hoepfully the antibiotics she is taking will help her get through quickly.

First off; Congratulations to Zulema and Ståle - yesterday ( 28 ) Storm Amaru was born, weighed in at 4,3 kg! Welcome Storm!
Melissa and Mishelle are now proud sisters to a little brother.

This weeekend is also halloween -weekend, and Melissa went to a party yesterday with her friends from school. She was dressed as a vampire queen, and told "scary" stories. - Later she paid the price with fever and an ear inflammation that kept har awake most of the night. Even so, we made the decision to go and visit the newborn in hospital today. Melissa loved it, but turned ill again so the visit was kept short.
On a side note... even Mishelle now has a pumkin head at "her place" .. she 2 needs to celebrate in style ;o)))

Well, there is no doubt - winter is approaching! Last night the thermometer showed 5 degreees below zero and Melissa has began using her winter jackets. We have also prepared Mishelle's place with autumn heather, the only plants i think that look good and can endure the cold.
Melissa has had some trouble this past 2 weeks with a bad cough, but yesterday we went to see the doctor and received some medicin we hope will do the trick. Melissa has suffered for a long time with a cold, and one of the things we hope to determine is whether or not she may have asthma. I hope this is not the case, but since she has had trouble for such a long time,we want to rule out that option!

Being the owner of a house = never going out of work.. Now we have taking on the challenge of discovering why there is a leak in our roof. Once the roof tiles came of , it became clear as daylight WHY we had a leak. Or rather condensation as it turned out. At some point the carpenter ran out of materials and took a short cut - he used plastic under the roof tiles.. Not the best idea he had i think. Well, anyway with the help av some good people we are now 1 day a way from finishing the repairs. Just in time for winter? ;o)

Yesterday we spent some 4 fast paced hours at http://www.rudskogen.no/ together with the Organisation for cancer sick children. All the drivers from the streetcar community was there, and took everyone for a spin or 2 ( even us adults got our childhood dreams fullfilled ). Even though the weather was rather cold, we had an amazing time there - and Melissa had a great big smile on her face when we left.

On saturday, we were invited to Zulema and Ståle's baby shower in anticipation of baby Storm Amaru. My first ever baby shower... hehehe Zulema and her sisters had prepared some amazing cakes, and a traditional dish from Peru was served; Ahji de gallina. Afterwards the chosen ones got to play a game that involved a lot of clothing pegs heheh - just take a look at Melissa's photo.

which for us marks 2 years since Mishelle's disease made its apperance. At 6:30PM she entered an epilepsy seizure that lasted 42 minutes, before the doctores in the hospital got control of the situation. From there on everything happened really fast, and we were told that she had a large tumor in her head. *It would take another 2 weeks before we knew what kind of tumor it was -AT/RT.

Melissa is now taking the school bus (almost ) every day, but yesterday it rained so much that the bus got stuck. Luckily today the sun appeared and the bus came on time.
Hopefully we will also see the sun this saturday, when Zulema & Ståle has invited us to their "baby shower"-in honor of baby Storm.
*This Sunday - 9/11 marks 2 years since our world was forever changed , it was on this day we realised the gravity of Mishelle's disease. Today Melissa started school again after a long summer vacation. She is now a 2'nd grader and our little girl is not so little anymore. Zulema and Pelusa ( the dog) was also here to follow Melissa to her first day, together with Margaret and me. Thursday my father celebrated his birthday by going to see a comedy show with friends, so today we celebrated his birthday with the family.

Tomorrow Melissa starts school again after a long summer holiday ( even though i don't think we have much of a summer here in Norway this year....). Melissa is now a second grader! My little girl not so little anymore i guess.. Also i recieved good news this weekend; Yoselin, Melissa youngest aunt is coming to Norway next week!! I can't wait to see her again. It is 13 months since we left Peru, so seeing Yoselin again will be fun.

Today the girls and i made a day of it in Oslo, starting with the view from Holmenkollen, then onto walking amongst the sculptures of Gustav Vigeland before ending up in downtown Oslo to see all the flowers outside Oslo's cathedral. People have made an ocean of flowers there to commemorate the people who died 22.07, and it was breathtaking to watch. It's one thing to see it on Tv, but seeing all the flowers - and feeling the stillness of the place made a strong impression on all of us.

Today we came back from one week in the middle of Norway; Nesbyen. A wonderful week with Melissa and Margaret, with visits to an animal park, a meteorite park, folk Museum, viking park and walks in the mountain.
Sadly, the news from "black friday" reached us in the mountains as well. 1 crazy man killing so many people, young people. Our hearts and thoughts go out to all those that has lost someone this weekend. The times ahead will be difficult for so many people, but they will prevail and life will go on. The works of one crazy man can never take away the will to continue.

Today Zulema and Ståle went to a funeral, so Margaret and i stepped in to "babysit" Melissa and Pelusa( their puppy ). And even though it was raining - the girls had fun outside in the swimming-pool... hehehe When Zulema and Ståle came back we had a barbeque and strawberries, before leaving. Fortunately we will get to babysit Pelusa again this weekend.

Today was Melissa's last day at school as a first grader... Now summer vacation is next - and we started by saying hello to Zulema and Ståle's new family member; Pelussa. From there we went to Oslo and the pachamama ( mother earth) peace festival. We got to see Outlandish and Chico Trujillo live, but unfortunately we missed Calle13.. They came on to late and Melissa had to return for some beauty sleep.

Today Melissa's school had their summer party. Melissa and her class performed a song for us and afterwards coffee and kakes were sold. We also got to see some of the work the children have done this first year of school. Next wednesday the summer vacation starts and Melissa is looking forward to spending time having fun! ;o) The photos also show Melissa and Margis enjoying an ice-cream before visiting Zulema & Ståle, and when Ståle had to try out the Ben10 suit.

Today we went to Oslo and Vigelandsparken to visit Hafslund's environmental festival. It's a festival inteded to teach the children about the environment and how to take care of it. Zulema and Ståle had made empanadas for our lunch and they tasted great! ;o) Melissa's cousins Therese and Tuva also came which Melissa ( and we ) appreciated. Afterwards Melissa wanted to swim a little so we spent a short moment at a nearby beach - Bogstad. All in all a wonderful day in the sun - and when we drove home my mother had made us a norwegian speciality; rhubarb soup. mmmm ;o)

Today summer came to visit us here in Norway. I hope we'll see a lot more of it.. but here we have to enjoy the few days of warm, sunny days when they appear ;o) . Melissa is spending the weekend with Zulema and Ståle , but Margaret and i went to see my dad's new boat - and even got to try sitting in a Corvette Stingray! I want one of those ;o) hehehe ( although my secret dream is Jaguar E-type, the corvette looked good with me i think.... ).

Since spring is here, we went to Son and had our first outdoor icecream on saturday. There we also met with Zulema and Ståle, and they bought Melissa some skates which she loved. Today Margaret and i took Melissa to my old school, where Melissa could try her new skates in "safe" environment ;o) hehehe Margaret also tried her skates for the first time... but i have to be honest; Melissa has the best technique skating hehehe

And in Peruvian tradition we remembered Mishelle first at her burial place and then we gathered to remember Mishelle at her aunt's house. Thanks to Kelly, Margaret and Zulema for making all the preparations.
I can not believe it has been one since i last held Mishelle's hand. And so many times i have dreamed of doing that again - if only for just a moment! Mishelle did not have much time in this world, but she left her mark on all of us who got to know her!
Not a day has gone by that i have not missed her. I wish you were here with us my Snoopie!

Today we celebrated Mishelle's birthday at her "place".. Strange, but a nice way to celebrate her. We decorated her place with flowers and bought some "gifts" and sent some balloons up in the sky - hoping she would see them as they flew.

After celebrating Mishelle, we were off to see Melissa as her ballet class had their seasonal performance. We ( the parents ) got to see all they had learned since christmas. So now - a rather strange day comes to its end and in 2 days it is back to visit Mishelle again. On thursday it is 1 year since she joined the angels..

Today we spent the entire day at Tusenfryd, an amusement park just south of Oslo. I won some tickets to their opening day and we invited Zulema and her fiancé Ståle. Just got back from a wonderful tour to the beach with Melissa and Margaret. Its Maundy Thursday and the weather here in Norway is great today.
Yesterday Melissa came back from the mountains were she had spent 5 days with her mother and step father. today we decided to go and explore the beach and the surrounding areas, tomorrow we'll spend the day with Melissa's cousin, Therese and then we're off to the amusement park here in Norway on saturday. The easter holiday will go by real fast i think..
Next week is also rather special for us; First Mishelle's birthday on tuesday - then on thursday it is one year since she joined the angels in heaven. I can not believe that it is one year since we said good-bye to Mishelle!! In that year so much has happened, Mishelle has even been joined by another 3 girls we have met along the way and my thoughts go out to everyone that has lost a child. ♥♥♥♥ 1 heart for each child that has followed Mishelle, that i have had the pleasure of meeting. May they have found peace and happiness were they are now!

Next week is easter holiday and Melissa will go on vacation with her mother and her new boyfriend. When Melissa is back, we have plans to have some fun togehter exploring the nature and go to an amusment park.
Melissa has become very good at reading these last few weeks, and as one of the pictures show - she loves too read with her grandmother. Another photo is when she is "teaching" the other students; they played teacher/student and took turns teaching... hehe
Just after the holidays, we will "celebrate" Mishelle's 4 birthday and just 2 days later on the 28'th it is one year since she left us. I believe most of the family is looking towards that day with mixed emotions.. I still think about my little Snoopie every day! ♥♥♥

This weekend Melissa's cousin Therese stayed with us and the 2 girls had a lot of fun together( although they do look rather tired in one of the photos...hehe ). Upon returning Therese - Tuva and Margaret found time to share a moment playing with a doll.
Now that easter is closing in, Melissa will be spending some time with Zulema and her boyfriend Ståle further north in Norway. Let's hope there will still be some snow left for them to go skiing, because the snow here in the south is melting fast!

Another weekend is coming to its end, and once again we have the pleasure of having Margaret with us. Melissa is loving it! Having another woman to play and talk with has done her wonders.
Yesterday we spent togheter with Zulema and Ståle in Oslo, where Melissa went to a house of fun and then we went to a peruvian dinner.
Around the house the girls have played hide and seek, Wii and other games for girls.. ;o)

Winter vacation

Hi ya all.

This week Melissa has had a week off from school. It's winter vacation here. Tuesday we went on a short boat trip from Norway to Sweden ( and got to see the oil tanker that had crashed a few days earlier in the Oslo-fjord). We spent the day with my parents and had a gr8 day. Tomorrow the plan is to go see a museum in Oslo and on saturday Melissa's cousin, Tuva celebrates her first birthday. a few more photos here from Melissa's birthday party last saturday and from our boat trip.You can see in of the photos, the ice on the water.. Its been cold for a long time now - i want summer!

As u have seen, its taken me a loooong time to write something here. After that asshole abused Mishelle during the holidays by using her name & photo, i kind of lost the passion. I will never understand how people can abuse the name of a child to front their own purpose, even worse when that child is no longer with us! From my point of view that is sinking 2 such a low, that all other intention in his writing is lost.

well, i had to get that out before i can go on....

In more nice "news"; Tuesday is Melissa's birthday! Can u imagine - she will turn 7!! My little girl... She goes to balet-class and has just celebrated the first 100 days of school.. ;o) ( Later in life, that will turn-and she will celebrate when she has only 100 left... hehehe ).
Others that have celebrated their bday's since my last entey are; Melissa's cousin Christopher, My brother, my mother, my sister-in-law, Melissa's cousin Therese. A somewhat late "happy bday" 2 all of you.

Unfortunately i also recieved news that Mishelle have been joined by another angel that we met along our way. A beautiful girl we were fortunate enough to meet while fighting in hospital, left her earthly body last week. ♥♥ = 2 angles always in our hearts.

From my little place in the world, 2011 has to be a better year then 2010. So i enter the new year with enthusiasm and the intent of making 2011 a good year for Melissa and me.

Christmas is behind us and a new year is just around the corner.
This christmas we celebrated with my parents and my brother and his family. Being so many togheter made it "easier" to keep our minds away from the one person missing at the table. I actually think that the days leading up to christmas was worse.. I did not sleep much the day before christmas, i kept thinking about our little angel and how different it all could have been.
But that said; christmas 2010 turned out nice. Melissa and her cousins; Therese and Tuva made it memorable ;o) Here are just a couple of photos; see the smile on Melissa when "Santa" is coming... hehehe

Yesterday it came to my attention that Mishelle has been used ( abused ) on another blog here in Norway. There is a man who has decided he wants to "fight" alternative treatment and has WITHOUT asking used Mishelle as an example to show that this does not work... because we accepted the help of a healer; Terje Aasjord. Mr Aasjord did so without asking for anything in return and became a friend of Mishelle and the rest of us in the process. Now this person in Oslo has taken this out of context and decided to use it to "prove" his own agenda/crusade against Mr. Aasjord. However almost everything he claims regarding Mishelle is wrong, and as such can not be used as anything else then proof that he shows a great disrepect to Mishelle and her family.

I will use this entry in our blog to give our FULL support to Terje Aasjord, and also hope that Mr X ( i will not use his name, because he has his own company - and i DO NOT wish to give him any publicity. If anyone wants to know who this fucking asshole is - u can contact me directly ) stops using other people to front his own case.

I had hoped to get through the holidays in a good way - but this person has made me VERY angry. I am acctually thinkning about calling in some help from our lawyers, to see if we can shut down his blog permantely...

We would like to wish everyone reading our little home on the web; A Merry X-mas - Feliz navidad - God Jul.

This christmas will be special in many ways for us, first of all because it is our first christmas without Mishelle "Snoopie"... It has been strange and painfull going around shopping - and not buy a gift for my little girl. And i am sure christmas eve will be difficult as well, not seeing her eyes light up from all the gifts.
Today Melissa and i went to decorate her "home" at the cementary. We tried to make it look more like christmas... I MISS YOU SNOOPIE!!!!!! You are always in my heart.

I also show you a photo i took at the hospital last week. Melissa met her favourite clown theree; Toto, the hospital clown. ;o) He was also Mishelle's favourite and gave a "private" show for Mishelle when she became to tired to go outside her room. I would really like to send a special greeting to B1 in Fredrikstad; You are the best people i have met along my way, and i know that the children who will have to spend the holidays in hospital - will be in the best hands. A special christmas greeting to EVERYONE at B1 - Merry chrismas!!

My princess had her christmas party tonight at school. Her class had a christmas performance for us; the parents and famlies. Melissa had the part of a "nisse/goblin" and they all sang christmas-songs for us. "Jack Frost nipping on your nose"... Yes, it is really cold outside these days.. When the thermometer is stuck around -20 degrees! It is nice to have some indoor activites to do. Today Melissa and i went to visit "Eventyrfabrikken ( Fairy tail fabrik? )", and spent 3 hours having fun there. Later we did some shopping for christmas presents at Toys'R'us and had dinner at MCDonald's... ;o) All in all a great daughter/father day. Hope u like the photos from both outside and inside...

Melissa - a ballet star!

Hi,
Today i was one of the proudest fathers in the world! Melissa had her first ballet performance at a theatre in Ski. The show was called "Travle dager" or "busy days" and Marianne Høymer ( the teacher ) did a fantastic job managing the children. I am impressed! Melissa played the role of a mouse.... ;o))
I'm sorry that the quality of the photos is not the greatest.... they were taken without flash. The photo of Melissa alone is taken "back-stage" and in the audience you can see zulema and 2 proud grand-parents

Exciting week coming up

-because Melissa will have her first big ballet performance saturday, before almost 400 people! Tuesday is their last practice before the show. And i can guarantee that i will have photos of the event ready for you guys to see. This last week Melissa went to the doctor and took many bloodsamples, because she has been feeling ill lately. The test turned out good fortunately and showed no signs of anything out of the ordinary ;o) The weekend Melissa and i spent cleaning the house a little on saturday and today we had an early celebration of my parents anniversary tomorrow, when they have been married 41 years - CONGRATULATIONS !!!!
We celebrated along with my brother and his family at my parents house.

Many things going on in our lives at the moment, so my updates are not coming on a regular basis. Sorry about that....

Melissa has this weekend been to a birthday party with a friend from school and she has spent saturday afternoon with her aunt Kelly. Sunday she was at my parents house, while i was watching the cup-final here in Norway. Unfortunately "my" team lost..
In just 2 weeks, my Melissa will perform with her ballet-class at the annual christmas show.. I have front row ticket to that show! ;o) If the show is sold out, there will be almost 400 people there watching her ( and the others ) dance!

and in that week, Melissa has been to the swimming-pool in Askim with her aunt Kelly and me ( http://www.ostfoldbadet.no/ ). Melissa is learning first of all not to fear the water, but also little by little how to swim. It has also become colder here and as the photos show; cold outside and Fluffy the cat enjoys the fireplace... :o)

Happy Halloween

Melissa has had a nice halloween weekend. On friday she went to a halloween party organized by the local community, ysterday she wnet to stay with her grand parents and today she went trick or treat with her cousin Therese ( her uncle and i "helped" find the houses.... ).
Melissa and i ended the weekend by visiting Mishelle and light a candle for her. Melissa also wanted her little sister to "see" her costyme; a vampire princess.

-since our Mishelle left us for "angel-duty". 28'th of april at 10:30AM she took her last breath, after having fought a tumor named AT/RT. The most courageous girl i have ever met, she never gave up smiling even when it turned painful. She taught me a lesson; don't complain about the little things - enjoy what is here and now.

Autumn "party" at school

Hi ya all,

Melissa's class had a "get-together" today. We, the parents arranged it so the class could get to know each other better as well as us parents. On the agenda was football - children vs. parents ( they won the game 6-4 ) and BBQ. It was a little cold out, but the cildren seemed to enjoy themselves.. At the end of the game the children got to do a little penalty shoot-out, and one of the parents had to be the "victim" in goal.
I also enclose a photo of Melissa from last saturday enjoying her "saturday-sweets" that her grand-parents had bought for her.... Hmmm, is it just me or is that a "handful" :D)

Today Melissa became a mother and i a grand-father :O) - to a 14 weeks old cat. Her name; Fluffy Marie. Ever since i was told we could have this cat, Melissa has been asking about her every day; "when can we go and get her?". Since Melissa lost her other cat; Elisabeth in a car accident - Fluffy will be an indoor cat ( at least for now ). We will not risk loosing another cat to the road outside our door. I tokk a few photos today of the newest member of the family - isn't she cute? :D)

Here in Norway the children have their autumn vacation. 5 days home from school... So today Melissa and i went to see a norwegian movie; " The brothers Dal and the curse of the viking sword". Melissa loved it! I also uesed the day to take a few photos. It has been a grey and rainy day here in our parts of the world, but the colours the trees have is breath taking. Today both Melissa and i went to the hairdresser in Vestby. Melissa desperately needed to trim her hair a little and i needed a good old fashion hair cut :o).
After our visit at the hair salon my mom had invited us to celebrate the official Mutton in cabbage -day here in Norway. Not my favourite, but once a year its ok...
Melissa and i also took a walk in the sun today and i took a few photos as Melissa threw rocks into the local lake...

Today was a sad day for Melissa. Her cat Elisabeth was run over by a car yesterday, and today the doctor told us there was nothing else to do - but let Elisabeth go to heaven.. :o( In other words Elisabeth is now playing with Mishelle.. A couple of photos here from todays funeral... Melissa's cat was only approx. 6 months old and as Melissa said - " It is not fair that both Mishelle and Elisabeth had to die so young".. Well put!

On sunday Melissa became a "mother" to her new cat ; Elisatbeth Trulte ;o) ( Melissa chose the name herself..) Today while Melissa was at school - her cat came very proud to the door, wanting to get inside the house with her first "hunt"... As u can see in the photo, Elisabeth has had her first confirmed kill - a mouse. She did not agree with me, that the dead mouse should stay outside the house... The other photo i took today when Melissa came down the track from her school.

*This saturday - the 11'th also marks the one year "anniversary" since the tumor inside Mishelle's head was discovered in what is now know as ;"black friday". It is with a great "fear" that i approach this upcoming weekend.....

A great day with Widerøe

hi ya all,

Yesterday the norwegian support organization for children with cancer and Widerøe, a norwegian airline company gave cildren with cancer and children who had lost a brother/sister a perfect day at http://www.kolmarden.com/ . The cildren ( as well as us parents ) had a wonderful day. It impresses me how much people are willing and capable to do for the right causes. Many peolpe were involved in giving the cildren such a great day. Many thanks goes out to everyone involved! The saff at Wideøre, the staff at kolmgarden, the people who opened up that airport in Sweden - just for us! Flybussekspressen and SKB. And everyone else involved in yesterdays perfect day!
The tour included a sightseeing over Oslo at low altitude, the children got to go inside the cockpit and see how the captain worked and of course the pilots had to go with Melissa to the roller-coaster ;o)

Hi ya all,

Melissa and i managed to "squeeze" in a short walk by the river Glomma today, between school and ballet class. We even went inside a small fortress hidden inside a small mountain by Fossum bridge, used during WW2. A long day is finally coming to an end, but here a few photos from today.

Today also marks 1 year since the doctor first suspected something was wrong with Mishelle and sent her to hospital... It still took a few more days before we received the BIG shock, but today is "one of those days" in our memory book.
