Update from birthday party ( and Norway's national day )

Wirting on the balloon

And off they go

On her birthday

National day
On Mishelle's birthday the family gathered to celebrate her 7'th. We wrote messages on some helium balloons and sent them up into the sky ( the children hoping she would read them ).   After the ceremony at the cementary, we went home and contiued with cakes and muffins. Even though she is not here in person - she is with us in our hearts and by celebrating her
                                                         birthday like this she will
                                                        continue to be remembered by
                                                        the other children as well.

My father on our National day
On Norway's national day we started off by decorating Mishelle and my father's place at the cementary before going off to the school to celebrate.  This year it was also our turn to organize the celebration ( Melissa is a 4'th grader and 4'th grade is responsible for this every year ).
In the evening we went to my mothers house, were she had made a delicous cake decorated with the colours of our flag.

That time of year again....

Photo taken a week ago

Having some fun during treatment

2 people we miss A LOT
I don't update my blog much anymore, but i just had to say a few words now. This saturday Mishelle Alyson would have celebrated her 7'th !! birthday  -  and in her honour the family will gather to celebrate her with balloons and cakes.  Monday 28'th marks the fourth year since she left for angel duty - and the sence of loss keeps growing inside me. So many questions occupy my mind; " what would she look like, what would be her favourite music, hobby, sport etc.. "  Questions that will follow me the rest of my life and never be answered.   And to make spring even more melancholic, may 16 marks 1 year since my father passed away. IF there is an after-life i know these 2 are together and having fun - but that does not take away my need to hear their voices or see their faces.  They say time heals all wounds... NO it does not!   It just teaches you to live with the open wound in your heart.
True!

First day of the last month of the year 2013

What have U been this year?
Well, it's the first day of the last month of an eventful year.  2013 has seen the passing of my father, Melissa has started preparations for her first ever twirling competition(january 2014) and she started in 4'th grade this autumn.   2013 has been a year of ups and downs in many aspects ( health being the key word ) and my hope for 2014 is that it will be a more positiv year for all of us.

As you can see  - i am not so active anymore writing this blogg, and most likely there will only be occasionally updates here. But i am not declaring the death of this blogg just yet... i am keeping the door open for a return...hehhe

Soon 2014...

Proud twirling girl
But just in case  - have a wonderful christmas month everyone!

Another proof that Norway is a sad excuse of a country

Once again i am reminded of something that a swedish minister once said; " Norway is the last Soviet state".  I lost my father to cancer about 2 weeks ago, but before he passed away we applied for a turist visa for a family member from Peru, so she could say her last goodbye. Today, after his passing she was told that "Norway did not want her" and as such she can not even come to pay her respect at my fathers grave.

The reason?  "
Where our and the local Schengen Cooperation's experience with specific groups and nationalities indicates that many fail to leave NonA/ay or the Schengen área upon expiration of their visas, it has become our practice to issue a visa oniy in exceptional cases. Probability of return is assessed individually, and importance is attached to both the emigration potential in the applicant's country of origin and to the individual factors regarding the applicant."

I feel ashamed that my passport says i am norwegian,  This is only the last of many cases were norwegian authorities overlook the human aspect and just treats people with racial motives.   It is time for you Mr Stoltenberg to take your coat and live politics behind.  Stop treating people like dirt, and make us proud of our country again.

Regards from a frustrated citizen
